Olivia Butterworth
Driven by an unshakeable conviction that the power of people, and the communities they are a part of, is the missing jigsaw piece in the development, delivery and sustainability of our public services. A skilled practitioner, policy maker, strategist and leader, Olivia has exemplary communication skills and welcomes engaging in the uncomfortable conversations to drive change.
With decades of experience working in national Government and NHS policy and strategy, Olivia has always been rooted in communities and brings her Community Development approaches into how she works with and alongside people. Well versed in complex bureaucracies, she is skilled at bringing the focus and attention to what really matters to people, navigating through complexity together, building the confidence and skills of the people involved to realise their own futures.
Olivia is a Non-Executive Director of Local Care Direct where she is the lead Board member for patient safety, and has previously held Trustee positions at a number of charities. She is a committee member of Pendle Dog Agility Club and currently working with Colne Youth Action Group to support the organisation’s development and delivering high quality youth work with a committed team of volunteers.
Olivia is owned by Stan the Staffie, Jackson her rescue dog and two cats who boss. Recently hooked on dog sports, including agility and flyball, her spare time is invested in running around, flailing her arms about and seriously celebrating when things go well!
